Untitled 10x10cm acrylic on canvas
Artwork by Thomas Iser
This piece is part of Thomas Iser’s series on affordable housing. With both humor and poetry, the artist reflects on the growing impossibility of owning a home in today’s world. Each small canvas represents a different type of dwelling — tiny formats that everyone can still afford. Here, Iser takes the idea to the extreme: on a 10 cm square, he offers not just a home, but an entire island. Between two palm trees, a simple tent becomes a symbolic refuge, hanging between dream and irony. The blue “window,” the artist’s signature motif, reminds us that even the smallest spaces can hold an infinite horizon.
